Video Business Cards (VBC) are a great way to “introduce” yourself and make an impression, that lasts.
Why a Video Business Card (VBC)?
How much more effective is your communication when you can include vision, body language, sound and tone.
Think of the number of times email communications have been misconstrued – this is because we can’t include our full intention within a few lines on an email. Imagine how much can you communicate about your self; style, presence, sincerity in just a 20 second video.
With the advances in technology over the past few years, video communication is now so easy to share. Yet as with any form of communication, it is important that your presentation isn’t lessened by a poor quality product – not only in your “performance” but also the look/ “quality” of the format you deliver in.
Where would you use a Video Business Card (VBC)?
Video Business Card (VBC) can be used in a number of ways, such as
- -‐ On “Contact / About Us” page on your website (replacing those stagnate head shots)
- -‐ Email signatures can include a link to your video card.
- -‐ Linked In profile.
- -‐ Mobile devices.
- -‐ You Tube So if someone Googles your name they can “meet” you on line.
Why use Key Clip for you Video Business Card (VBC)?

Steps in producing your Video Business Card
1. Call Key Clip on 02 8209 1916 and book in your studio time.
2. Key Clip will then send you an invoice, which needs to be paid in full to confirm your booking. 36 hours notice is required to change the booking time, otherwise the full charge will be incurred.
3. Sit down and spend 20 minutes thinking about what you would like to communicate in your 20 second VBC. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT STEPS YOU CAN DO TO ENSURE YOUR VBC IS EFFECTIVE. Your script is really important – it is only 20 seconds, that’s
40-50 words, make every moment count.
Once you have written your script read it out loud a number of times. Get
someone else to listen to it and take on their feed back.
Once you’re happy with your script save it onto your USB memory stick. DON’T try and memorise the script. We find this doesn’t help your delivery on the day. We’ll load the script onto an autocue/ teleprompter to make it easy for you.
NB. We are happy to review your script, as long as you email it to us at least 48 hours prior to your booking time.
Example of a script.
Hi my name is Michael Teulon, Director Key Clip Studio. My role is to ensure that we get the best out of our presenters, whether they are professionals or first timers. I find working with a presenter, in a relaxed environment, aids in creating an engaging presentation – which results in, very effective communication.
4. Collecting “assets” for your VBC.
To give the feel of a “business card” we suggest you make it look similar to your traditional paper business card. This could mean including; logos, corporate colours and corporate text.
a. Corporate Logo – a jpg format file is good. Size is important
+300kb is required.
b. Obtain a sample of the corporate colours you would like to include
– again a Jpg file is good.
c. On a word document include the text and font you would like to include on your VBC. This is generally fairly limited – we don’t want to clutter.
Example: Name Title
Phone number or email address.
Copy all of these “assets” onto you USB memory stick.
5. On the Day
a. Appearance. Think of this as a photo shoot so “dress to impress”. Ensure your hair, make up (Girls – your normal make-‐up is fine. Boys -‐ we can take care of that for you) and wardrobe will all put you at your best.
Very important – NO GREEN TO BE SEEN.
Because we shoot in front of a green screen it is critical that you
don’t wear anything green.
b. Preparation. Ensure you bring your USB memory stick with;
i. your script
ii. corporate logo and colours
iii. your text and font
c. Studio booking time. Each business card is allocated 20 minutes in the studio. Therefore, it is critical to arrive on time. Any delay in your start time will mean a reduced time in the studio.
6. Delivery
You VBC will be delivered to you online, as an Mpeg4 (H.264) file (average file size 3-‐4mb), generally on the same day.
This can be installed on your website and mobile devices in various way. The simplest is to upload it straight onto You Tube. We are happy to discuss alternatives with your web designers etc or provide installation for you, at an additional cost.
